Every day we go many places and see many faces. A lot of them are smiling faces. However, just because the person is smiling on the outside, doesn't always mean that they are smiling on the inside. We tend to assume that they must be happy if they are smiling.
I feel that the words to the song People Need the Lord sum it up the best. The following are some of the verses to that song. Every day they pass me by I can see it in their eyes. Empty people filled with care headed who knows where. On they go through private pain living fear to fear. Laughter hides their silent cries only Jesus hears.
It's very sad how much pain that people go through each and every day in silence. They are quiet on the outside, yet screaming out for help on the inside. They are broken!!!!! As the song says though, Jesus hears their cries. He can and will reach down to them (us!!!). How amazing is that!!!!!
Take the time to say a kind word to the next person you come into contact with today. (whether they are smiling or not) You may be the only person that makes them feel like they matter. The Bible says: Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven. So..... it is our responsibility. I am certainly pointing a finger at myself!!!!!!!! I will not be the pot calling the kettle black. This is my challege for us today: Let's make someone's day a little brighter.
